Chris and Britten

Chris is one of our best friends, so we had to get a picture of him holding Britten. As you can see, she has already taken an interest in her "Uncle" Chris. We always enjoy Chris' company.

Lean on Me

There's no pillow quite so soft as a Father's strong shoulder.

A Tip For New Parents

There are 3 primary emotional stages of development for the baby at this early stage:
1. About to cry.
2. Crying.
3. Just finished crying.

Dad and Ally

This picture was taken a few weeks back, but I have been meaning to post it. I forgot that I didn't have any pictures of Ally or Dad with Britten because I saw them on Allysons blog and for some reason though that they were on mine also. I was so glad that both of them were able to make it down after Britten was born. They were both so helpful with Britten and we enjoyed their company. We can't wait to see them both again. We wish Dustin would have been able to make it, but we will see him soon! We love yall.

3 Weeks Old

Today Britten is three weeks old....and is getting so big. Yesterday she weighed 7 lbs 3 oz. Five days before that she weighed 6 lbs 9 oz. That's 2 oz a day! She is such a joy to be around. We have noticed that she has a pretty predictable routine.(Besides eating, sleeping, and pooping). She is usually fussy from about 6 to 7, and is really alert after that. I love all of the little things that she does that makes me smile, and well tear up. I love hearing the noises she makes when she sucks on her passy, the faces that she makes when she is leaving us a big surprise in her diaper, the rustling noise that her diaper makes when she is busy kicking her legs, and the familiar gaze she gives me when I am reading her a book and rocking her to sleep. It is such a blessing having this little girl in our life, and we thank God every day for her.

When darkness falls upon your heart and soul
I`ll be the light that shines for you
When you forget how beautiful you are
I`ll be there to remind you
When you can`t find your wayI`ll find my way to you
When troubles come aroundI will come to you

Chorus:I`ll be your shoulder
When you need someone to lean on
Be your shelter
When you need someone to see you through
I`ll be there to carry you
I`ll be there
I`ll be the rock that will be strong for you
The one that will hold on to you
When you feel that rain falling down
When there`s no body else around
I`ll be

And when you`re there with no one there to hold
I`ll be the arms that reach for you
And when you feel your faith is running low
I`ll be there to believe in you
When all you find are lies
I`ll be the truth you need
When you need someone to run to
You can run to me

I`ll be the sun
When your heart`s filled with rain
I`ll be the one
To chase the rain away

ZZZZZZZ

Britten was so tired yesterday after riding around with us that she didn't wake up for about 20 minutes after we got home. We didn't want to pick her up because she looked so peaceful. Doesn't she look SOOO adorable?! She loves to ride in the car, and always naps through the whole thing.

Me and my Gammy

I love being able to spend time with my Gammy. I have heard about her for many weeks, and now I can finally meet her. She spoiles me so much, and loves to hold me! I love her so much!

Me and My Daddy

I love this picture! While Allyson and my Dad were still here, we walked in the nursery and found that Justin had not only rocked Britten to sleep, but also himself. Allyson snapped a quick picture and it made both of them jump. Thankfully Justin was the only one who woke up. The reason that I love this picture so much is because it shows off the two loves of my life! I love you both so much!

IT'S A TOUGH JOB BEING THIS CUTE.

We just can't get enough of this lil girl.

Brittens First Bath

Britten got her first bath today! She did so good and didn't cry at all. When we were finished and she was all clean, she was ready to eat, and then go back to sleep! What a Doll!!!!

We were really excited that the whole Steffens gang was able to come down and see the new arrival. They all really helped us out a lot, and offered a lot of encouragement and helpful advice. As you can see from the pictures, they really enjoyed being here and loving on baby Britten. It was hard to tell them goodbye, but we know we will see them soon.

Sleepy Time

Like all babies, Britten sleeps a lot. This makes it hard on Mommy and Daddy and all the other people who are dying to hold her! We have to restrain ourselves from waking her up every couple of minutes.

She's Here!!

Here we are right after Britten is born. We were so thrilled to welcome this beautiful girl into the world. They started me on my medicine at about 6:30 am, and by 5:18 pm she was here. It wasn't near as scary or painful as I expected. Justin was able to watch the entire birth (without fainting) and was such an encouragement to me. Justin was really excited to get Brittens footprints on his scrub top. He actually wore it for the rest of the day. We are both EXTREMELY proud parents!

Bringing Britten Home

This morning we got to bring home our beautiful baby girl, Britten. She is two days old today, and we just cant get enough of her. She is such a little angel, and has brought so much joy to our lives already. In this picture, she is wearing the same outfit that I was brought home in. This made the occasion even more exciting and memorable. Keep checking our blog....MANY pictures will follow.
