Chimney Rock

While Sherri and Papoo were here we made a trip up to Asheville to see the Great Smokey Mountains. It was so beautiful. The first trail that we went on was to a waterfall. I was in charge of walking the dogs.....that was interesting. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. We then took an elevator up a rock that was hollowed out up to the top of Chimney Rock.

The Chimney is the focal point of Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park.
Climb to the top of this towering 315-foot monolith located on the very edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains high above beautiful Hickory Nut Gorge. At a soaring elevation of 2,280 feet with its 75-mile views, this mountain top experience will take your breath away. And, you can get to the top of the "Rock" with great ease or some effort. It's up to you!

Christmas morning

Britten was so eager for Christmas this year. It was so neat to be able to tell her all the stories about Christmas. She really loved to hear the story about the birth of Jesus. We really tried to keep this our focus this year because we always want her to know the real meaning behind Christmas.

She also loved writing Santa a note the night before and leaving him milk and cookies. And of course all the toys. She really got spoiled this year! Everything seemed to be princess themed, and she was ok with that!

Britten loves dance class! She will have her first recital in May. I am so excited to see her perform. She is so funny during dance class. She loves to practice at home and always wants her ballet or tap shoes on. She has really gotten pretty good and has learned to listen to the teacher. More dance pics to follow.

Our dogs are strange....to say the least. I swear they think that they are humans. Britten loves her puppies, and actually decided that Kyle and Andi weren't good names for them, so she renamed them Cracker and Pouch. She doesn't refer to them as Kyle and Andi anymore.....silly girl. They answer to it.....and do anything she says because they are just as crazy about her! They really are good dogs.....even though they get in to trouble a lot. Last night Britten and I had made a pizza, and we left it on the top of the oven. I guess that Kyle thought that we forgot to give them their pieces, so he helped himself, and pulled the whole rest of the pizza down. Thankfully we were finished, and the knife didn't fall on them! They ate good last night, though. I think that Kyle has watch the Marley preview too much and saw our reaction to the bad things Marley does! He is just trying to make us laugh!

Going back to North Carolina

We were blessed to be able to go home for Thanksgiving this year. It has been 6 years since Justin has been home for a Thanksgiving, and 5 for me! We were glad to be there! We had so much fun seeing everyone! We definitely got enough to eat! I was so glad to be able to introduce Justin to the Weaver Thanksgiving. We also got to eat with Dad and Felicia, The Steffens, and Mom and David. We had such a great time!! I also went to the shooting range for the first time. I was scared to shoot the shot gun at first, but then I really like it! I am hoping Justin will get me one of my own, although I will never hunt anything! Another thing that we got to do was go see a Tech game. Mom bought us tickets and we couldn't have been happier! We loved it. It made us homesick, though. We were also glad to be able to be at Mom and David (Duckie's) wedding. It was a very special day!! Until next time.......this summer after the baby is born!

She is three!

I can't believe that our baby is three! Time goes by too fast! She is ready to be a big sister, and I know that she will be a lot of help. I took this picture before church yesterday, and I thought that she looked so cute. I love when her hair gets really curly. I can't believe what a big girl she is. She never fails to amaze me with how smart and talented she is!

Britten started taking ballet classes about a month ago. I took these pictures before her first class....she seemed to know what she was doing. She loves going to class and being with her other ballerina friends. She tries to teach me what she has learned in class, but when I try to do it, she says that I am not doing it right!

My Princess is going to be a Big Sister

Yes! That is right! Justin, Britten, and I are going to have a new addition in July! We are so blessed, and are looking forward to a new baby! Britten wants me to have twins....one boy and one girl.....because she can't decide which one she wants me to have! She is so excited about becoming a big sister!

Britten had such a fun Halloween this year. She is old enough to really look forward to it and have a lot of fun. She went as a princess this year...her choice. We went downtown to a festival that they were having. She played all the games and got her face painted. She wouldn't ride the hayride this year because she said that it was too scary. After she played all the games, we went to all the businesses downtown and trick or treated. She was so quiet and shy when she saw they people handing out the candy. ( Is she really my child?) After she got enough candy in her basket, we took her to the park where they were running the miniature train for spooky Halloween rides. We had a lot of fun. Then we headed back to the house to hand out candy to the other kids. We had a great Halloween, and hope you all did too!

Britten this morning

Yes, I know I have been a bad blogger! The reason for this is that our camera's 2 memory cards are full. Yes, I know this is horrible. I need to take them to Walmart and print them all out! Some of them are from so long ago. Anyways.....this is Britten this morning being as cute as ever. I can't believe that in three months she will be 3 years old. She is such a big girl! Right now as we speak she has found my cold coffee from this morning and is drinking it. Probably not too good! We are so anxious for our trip to Texas for Thanksgiving. This will be our first Thanksgiving home since we moved away. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday with Thanksgiving being a close second, so I can't wait to be home this year for it. Britten thinks that we are taking a helicopter there and that Daddy is going to fly it for us. Haha. Britten is getting smarter and smarter. We are still working on signs everyday. I recommend the show Signing Time to any and every parent. She makes us laugh all of the time and I can see that she had my outgoing spirit. She is always wanting to go.
